I chose peaceful and grounded colors for two reasons: first, I wanted the logo to put viewers at ease. Relaxation and even a touch of luxury brought by the below* combination of colors set an approachable, trusting tone. Secondly, it was important to me and Jamie that the logo was different enough from the typical color scheme of a hospital. Providing these families in need with a visual and tonal break after hours spent in a hospital room was critical to this branding transformation.
Their original branding & style guide didn’t reflect this generosity – instead, its logo was more reminiscent of a slasher film or a Daft Punk album than a space of extended community in a time of need. Through thoughtful conversations with Jamie the executive director of HHHoS, we were able to collaborate on branding that was immediately recognizable as safe, caring, and friendly.
The first goal of this project was to give their brand a clean, friendly, and calm feel.

I also provided the HHHoS with an additional asset that parallels hotel branding. Again, we wanted to give these families a break from the medical world and instead provide them with hospitality. These two logos bear complementary emotional representations but each creates a different experience for the viewer**.
Brand Case Studies
“Jay was awesome to work with! We met periodically to discuss my "vision" and then he would show me what he came up with. I love his enthusiasm and how he didn't think I was crazy when I'd say "I like/don't like this but I don't really know why!"
